South Mountain/Nubbin Hill news

Well, here we are again, finally made it to April, and still cold. Brrr. Someday it will be hot and I will be complaining about that too. It’s always something! Anyway, hope you are all doing well. Ray and I are fine. Today has been a lazy day for both of us. Too cold to do much outside and don’t want to do much inside either. We did make it to Bible study tonight. It was good. We’re studying about Samson right now. I think we will meet Delilah next week.

Spring Art Exhibit Schedule at OHAC

The Spring Art Exhibit schedule at Ozark Heritage Art Center is as follows: Duane Hada-April through June-Owner of Rivertown Gallery, Mountain Home (attending the artist reception). Essie Ward-April through June-On Loan from the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, Jeanne Hoffer-Tucker Collection. Ward/Treat Reception, April 12, 6:00 p.m. MHS art club-April and May. Bruno/Pyatt Elementary-April and May.

Ozark Christian Ministries to Hold Fundraiser

The Ozark Christian Ministries Food Pantry will be holding a fundraiser on April 19, at 5 p.m., at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Marshall. The address is 108 Noah Horton Mem Dr, Marshall, AR 72650. They will be serving a pulled pork dinner for $10 a donation. There will be donation prizes and a local trivia game night with prizes. The Food Pantry serves over 600 families within Searcy County.

Help for Veterans of SC

Every Monday, From 9-? A service Officer from the VFW, American Legion, and Disabled Veteran will be at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall to help veterans with situations they need help with. EXTENSION GET FIT IN SEARCY COUNTY! Are you ready to improve your health? Have you decided it is time to start exercising? The Extension Get Fit program from the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service can help! • Meet for an hour twice a week! Tuesday and Thursday at Searcy County Senior Center 9:30a.m.

Ribbon Cutting for New Museum Exhibit

On Friday, March 29 there was a ribbon cutting at the Buffalo River Historic Jail and Museum in Marshall. The new exhibit on “Women of the Ozark Frontier” is located in the museum. In attendance were the Marshall Mayor Kevin Elliot and Senator Boozman staffer Tolliver Myers and Congressman Crawford’s staffer Elijah Snow.
