The library just had its seed and plant sale and swap. We had a big crowd. Lots of tomato plants. Ms. Sue Gray had an assortment of plants which I am sure she will be also selling at the Farmer’s Market this summer. Everyone seemed like they were anxious to get their summer gardens and flower beds planted. I am hoping that the warm weather is here to stay.

Letters to the Editor:

Dear Editor: The family of Janice McDaniel would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all who have supported us during our difficult loss. Words can never express the gratitude and thankfulness we have felt. It would be impossible to list all the acts of kindness shown to us over the last few weeks. For the countless amounts of food that was provided for our family and to the many friends who helped keep the food prepared and the kitchen clean, thank you. For the beautiful plants, flowers, and gifts that were sent in remembrance of our sweet loved one, thank you. To the multitude of friends and family members who helped at the cemetery to dig the grave, even providing the equipment, and taking care of the grave after the service, thank you. To Brother Shane Horton, who delivered a peaceful service filled with love and support, thank you. To the large crowd of family and friends that attended the service and to the pallbearers who assisted, thank you. Numerous calls, texts, & visits were received to show concern, support and encouragement, thank you for each one. We are especially thankful for all the prayers for comfort and support that we have felt. Each act of kindness was thoughtful and meaningful to us. We are truly blessed with a community that has poured out their love to our family in so many different ways.

Nice windy weather Tuesday morning. Got a little drizzle of rain. Don and I met with the Chadwicks, Downs, Tuesday morning at Big Flat for breakfast. Donna at the senior center can make some of the best biscuits I ever ate and big ones on top of that. No kidding, they at least are 3 to 4 inches high, and the taste is just as good. Go see for yourself with all the trimming you order.

Good morning all! I didn’t have news last week. I was in Arizona by this time last week. We had a death in the family and needed to go west. We drove down on Saturday last, arrived in Phoenix Sunday last. We came home on Wednesday. Long road trip for an unhappy event.

Snowball news

Last week we had a visit from Petit Jean Electric’s fiber division. They were inspecting the house to find the best location to install our new fiber internet service. I spoke to Derek the scheduler yesterday and he said they were looking at running fiber to the house by the end of this week, then within a few days they would schedule another day to hook everything up inside the house. With that time line, I could have internet in Snowball in just a couple of weeks! While I would like to think I don’t need internet, it will make business at the store easier and will spare me from explaining to multiple guests that ‘internet doesn’t yet exist in Snowball’ anymore.

Chimes news

This is Sunday afternoon and a beautiful day. We got some rain one night this past week and everything is so pretty and green. It will soon be time to get some garden out. Randall brought in some nice tomato plants that their friend from Louisiana brought. I think it is a little too early to put them out.
