JANAVEE ZANE BAKER TYNER

Janavee Zane Baker Tyner, 93, of St. Joe, passed away October 14, 2025, in Marshall, Arkansas. She was born to Ralph Sheridan and Chloe (Newton) Baker on January 7, 1932, at Snowball, Arkansas.
Her family moved to St. Joe, where she met and married her soulmate, Densil Eamitt Tyner, on October 18, 1947. They traveled around the U.S. working before they returned to St. Joe to start a family, and within a few years, they had two daughters, Sherail and Betty.
Jana held several jobs over the years. She worked at a hospital in California and the garment factories in Harrison and Marshall. However, she mainly worked alongside Densil logging, running a dairy, and farming. She loved crocheting, reading, and gardening. Her favorite jobs were being a wife, mother, and granny. To her three grandchildren, she was a second mother, and her six great-grandchildren were a special blessing to her.
Jana was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Densil, a daughter Sherail Tyner Saling, a granddaughter, LaJana Saling Nixon, a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Mary Baker, a brother, Devon Baker, a sister, Jackie Shirlene Baker, in-laws: Barney and Veleda Tyner, Frank and Marge Tyner, Hazel and Henley Campbell, and Lurline Kovich.

The family would like to thank Jannie, Barbie, and Amanda for their help in taking care of Jana over the last year, and especially her nephew Randy Campbell, who checked on her daily after Densil passed, always helping her with odd jobs and enabling her to live at home as long as she did. Jana will be missed by many, but she returned home to her beloved Densil, whom we know she has missed greatly.
