Laverne Strahan of St. Joe
Laverne Mildred (Wall) Bandy Strahan, age 91, of St. Joe, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
The daughter of the late Charlie and Thelma (Manns) Wall was born April 30, 1931 in St. Joe, Arkansas. She lived most of her life in Searcy County, attending St. Joe School and Pine Bluff Community Church and was baptized at a young age in the Buffalo National River.
She loved quilting, gifting numerous quilts for family and friends. She loved walking in her yard admiring her beautiful flowers and took pride in her African violets. She loved sitting on her scenic front porch and

She was the center of her family and loved having gatherings at her home, especially at holidays. “Granny” was an excellent cook and was known by her grandkids for her homemade yeast rolls, chocolate gravy, and biscuits.
Survivors include her children, Junior (Margaret) Bandy, David (Marilyn) Bandy, Roberta (Michael) Pack, and Shirley Burkert; sister, Bobbie Eden; 7 grandchildren, Shelley (Michael) Walden, Angela (Dustin) Coats, JoAnna (Dustin) Blair, Marcus (Ashley) McCloud, Dean (Barbara) Nichols, Travis Bishop, and Lindsay Pack; and great grandchildren, Logan, Emilee, Noah, Owen, Layton, Ila Beth, Dylan, Micah, Addison, Alexia, Noah, and Myra; sister-in-law, Carol Wall; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Doylee Bandy, second husband, James “Red” Strahan and brothers, James and Ralph Wall, sister, Willadean Henson, brothers-in-law, Ken Eden and Virgil Henson, and two sons-in-law, Steven Sanders and Brad Burkert.
Funeral was at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with the visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. Gary Hunter and Terry Garriott will officiate. Burial followed at Love Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Walden, Logan Walden, Travis Bishop, Marcus McCloud, Dustin Blair and Dylan Blair.
Honorary pallbearers were Terry and Kevin Eden, Bennie Erwin, Randy Wall, Dustin Coats and Gary Hunter.
