Charles McDaniel

Charles McDaniel, age 86, was born to William and Ethel (Chadwick) McDaniel in Thola, Arkansas on June 16, 1937. He died on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in Batesville, Arkansas.

He was united in marriage to Bonnie Clark on September 16, 1967.

He was called to the ministry in April of 1976 and was pastor at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas. In 1987, he was pastor at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Widemon, Arkansas until his retirement in 2018 because of his health.

He was a faithful servant of the Lord and his favorite bible verse was Philippians 4:11.

He enjoyed gospel music, raising cattle and eating breakfast with his family, friends and church members. For vacations he loved going West, especially to Colorado, he would say, “I don’t want to see what man has made, I want to see what God created.”

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie McDaniel of the home; son, Gregory Wade McDaniel of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas; brother, Jesse McDaniel and his wife Geneva McDaniel of Melbourne, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Wynn McDaniel, four sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church north of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation of family and friends was Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
