Patricia J Aumiller, 93, of Slidell, Louisiana, died on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Born in Kewanee, Illinois in March of 1930.

She loved to sew, read (especially Bible stories and National Geographic), and dance. As a young woman, she loved to dance the Jitterbug, and took great pride in teasing her brothers and sisters. Keith Orr and William Orr Jr, Patty’s surviving siblings, can testify to multiple shenanigans. She met her husband, Basil, in Kewanee, and they welcomed three daughters; Janet, Tracey (Darren), and Maggie (Richard). Their family lived along the Gulf Coast for years.

Meanwhile she and Basil discovered a love for the Ozark Mountains. When Basil retired, the two established a home and many friendships in Searcy County. She and Basil loved their “cabin in the woods”, as well as the community and neighbors that quickly became their close friends.

Her strong Lutheran faith guided every decision, every day of her life. She was known for her hospitality, eagerness to help friends, her love of chicory coffee, and her expert fudge making (Aunt Feryl’s recipe) skills.

Survivors include her husband of more than 60 years, Basil Aumiller; daughters Janet, Tracey (Daren), and Maggie (Richard); grandchildren; Elizabeth, Jeff, Dillon, William, Ethan, and Joseph, as well as her four great grandchildren; as well as numerous fun-loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell 70460, on Friday, August 25, 2023. Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell. A late luncheon followed at the Tammany Twirlers Clubhouse at 35386 Home Estate Dr Slidell La.
