Nancy Waitley of Marshall

Nancy Ann Waitley, age 80 of Marshall, Arkansas died on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Warrenton Manor in Wright City, Missouri. She was born in Alco, Arkansas on October 27, 1943 to William Clifton Branscum and Myrtis Irene Morrison.
She was a devout Christian and served her Lord and Savior her entire life. She began her working career as an exceptionally talented pattern maker for a little girls clothing company called Toddling Time. She continued her career at Flintrock Shirt Factory in Marshall where she worked as a utility operator.
She and her husband, Bill later moved to Jamaica enjoyed her time in Jamaica and liked to tell stories of her time spent there. In later years she worked at the Searcy County Library.
She relished her role as a mother and in 1985 she met the love of her life, Bill Waitley and the marriage gained her two stepchildren, Lisa Johnson, and Roger Waitley. Roger passed away in 1996. The most cherished role for her was being grandmother to grandson, Sam. Spending time with Sam brought her so much joy. They loved sharing many activities, but especially cooking chicken and dumplings and turkey bone soup. Nancy’s quiet presence and strong spirit will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Ann Watts and husband, Gary of Marthasville, MO; beloved grandson, Sam Watts; siblings, Loretta Fariss (Kenneth), Janice Dollar, Roger Branscum, Betty Branscum and Kathy Parks (Larry); and a host of extended family and friends who will also mourn her passing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtis Branscum; husband, Bill Waitley who passed away in 2013; and siblings, Wilma Broad, JR Branscum, Judy Branscum and Linda Branscum.
Funeral services for her were 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Sam Horton officiating. Visitation was 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. preceding the service. Burial followed in Marshall Memorial Gardens where she was laid to rest beside her husband, Bill. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
