George Parks Jr. of Marshall

George Uriah Parks Jr., age 76 of Marshall, Arkansas died on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Ozark Health Nursing and Rehab in Clinton, Arkansas. He was born in Dennard, Arkansas on January 7, 1948 to George Uriah Parks and Rosemary Timmons Parks. George was married to Judy Elaine Parks for 53 years before her death in 2021.
He attended the Lord’s House of Prayer in Marshall. He worked for the Arkansas State Highway Road Department for 25 plus years. He was discharged from the Army National Guard in 1966. He enjoyed working on his farm alongside his wife Judy.
He liked to hunt and fish. His family was very important to him and any activities with them made his day brighter.
Survivors include children, Sherri Parks Ragland of Marshall and Brian Parks and wife Tina of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Curtis Ragland (Erin) of Mt. Vernon, Briana Redman (Adam) of Marshall, Landra McBee (Aaron) of Harrison, Blain Parks of Conway and Laynee Parks, also of Conway; great-grandchild, Marney Ragland; siblings, Bob Parks, Jim Parks, Gail Mainord, Willy Parks, Mike Parks, Tim Parks, John Parks, Kathy James and Dortha Treece; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family who will also mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Rosemary Parks; wife, Judy Preddy Parks; and siblings, Mary Parks Loggins, David Charles Parks and Gene Parks.
Funeral services for him were 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Allen Brock officiating. Special music was performed by Karen Ragland. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024 in the Chapel. Burial was in Rambo Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas. Pallbearers were Matt Treece, Jeff Parks, Jacob James, Pat Norman, Ernest Taylor Jr. and Isaac Trotter. Honorary pallbearers were Corey Preddy, Jeremy Parks, Robbie Parks, Chad Ragland, Adam Redman and Evan Parks.
