Henry Treece

Henry Lee Treece, 87, died peacefully on April 27, 2024, after a brief stay in Presbyterian Village Hospice. He was born on December 4,1936, the ninth of thirteen children to Ben and Grace Coleman Treece in Leslie, Arkansas.

He was a talented athlete, who excelled in basketball and rodeo events and was the self-proclaimed “Grand Champion” of all things Leslie. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane Blair, the day after high school graduation in 1956. They then drove the very next day to Washington State for work. They were married for 68 years.

He was an amazing grandfather and great-grandfather, who had a soft spot for children and animals. He loved feeding his birds and his feral cats and spending time with his dog and best friend, Sam. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Cynthia Tyson, who took loving care of him and Diane over the last four years.

Survivors include his wife Diane and their children Geoffrey (Jane), Craig (Cindy), Cole (Shannon), and Mary Beth Gresham (Matt); grandchildren Spencer Treece, Alex Treece, Cameron Treece, Tanner Treece, Mason Gresham, and Jameson Utley; and greatgrandchildren Jaxon Treece, Henry Treece, and Eli Treece; his brother, Buster.

He is preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Uma Treece, his siblings Carl, Hazel, Jonnie, Louie Marie, Danny, Bill, Jo Ann, Allie Jean, Patsy, Pete, and Connie Joe.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 15, from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at the Leslie Community Center.
