Newbie no more
This is something of a public service announcement. Bread is pretty special. If you get even halfway decent at making it, you will never have to wonder what to bring to family gatherings and such because it’s special. It is also easy. There is a single big pitfall that is easy to avoid— killing the yeast. The yeast is what makes those marvelous air bubbles that make the bread poof up. It’s rugged, reliable stuff and about the only thing I know of that you can do to kill it is to add something that is too hot.
