November 14, 2023, Robbie Farris Hedges, age 97, died at Oak Hammock at the University of Florida, Gainesville, after a brief illness. Robbie was born February 19, 1926 in Timbo, Arkansas to Robert (“Rob”) L.
Thanksgiving Eve Of course, Thanksgiving will be over with and Black Friday with it by the time anyone reads this. As the explosion of Christmas decorations edges ever closer to summer, this wonderful holiday is getting a bit squeezed in my humble opinion. I am not at all sure kids are learning why it’s even important, but I’m glad it is still pinning down a place.
On Saturday, November 18 Searcy County Judge Tony Horton held a town hall meeting located in the Marshall High School Gymnasium. Close to a thousand concerned residents, elected officials such as Searcy County Judge Tony Horton, Marshall Mayor Kevin Elliott, Leslie Mayor Eric Jaeger, several Justices of the Peace, City Council Members, local law enforcement and many more attended the meeting to hear any updates and information that could be presented.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner! The holiday season makes for a busy schedule. Marshall Elementary continually monitors student’s growth every week.

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. We have had such beautiful Fall weather this past week with several perfect Autumn days in a row. The rain brought in cooler temperatures and the oh so familiar gray November sky. With the cooler temperatures we have been keeping a small fire in the stove just enough to knock the chill out of the air and warm the house up. We are not the only ones who heat with wood so there is a wonderful smoky smell in the air.

Good morning friends and neighbors. Today is the Sunday before Thanksgiving. It will be a hectic week trying to get everything ready. We still have to process the deer meat Bill got for us. Plus I need to go to town with my folks to get groceries...I have a ton of baking to do, and it all HAS to be done BEFORE or by Wednesday.
