Chimes news

October 18 Good Sunday afternoon to everyone. It is a sad occasion with all the happenings going on in Israel. So many lives lost and so many injured. As our pastor, Bro. Jamon Lee said this morning, we as Christian people need to get on our knees and pray for Israel. We need to pray for each other and get our minds off the worldly things and start reading the Biblemore and then be obedient to God’s Word. If each one of us did that we would see a big difference in our nation, our state and even in our communities. It is time to put God first in our lives.

Big Flat Buzz

Good Sunday morning. What a difference a week makes! Last Sunday was a nod to spring...today it’s beginning to feel like winter. I don’t miss the 100 degree temps from summer, but if it didn’t get cooler than 65 I could be happy with that.

St. Joe news

Boone brought chickens. We fixed up a spot for them until the chicken pen is done. He’s bringing the laying boxes also. We blew out the stove and lit it, ready for cold inside anyway. Going to get the plants inside for the winter. Although promised myself ‘no more wintering plants inside’. Famous last words. Have to blame my friend Becky Simmons for that. She kept sneaking plants in when I’d buy something at her sale. Now I need to have a sale and get rid of stuff but no time for that. Too much other stuff going on.

South Mountain/Nubbin Hill news

October 18, 2023 Well here I am again. I’m just saying, I am writing news on Wednesday evening because it has to be there by 3:00 Thursday and who knows what will come up on Thursday. And on top of that what I write is about a week old. So, Just know that what I write is probably old news. And I’m having a hard time keeping this stuff straight!

Snowball news

Greetings from Snowball! I think fall is here and might stick around this time, I’m also sure everyone has noticed the shorter days as well. I always have mixed feelings about the shorter days, on one hand I like that I can corral my kids inside the house pre-nine PM, but on the other hand I become a bit stir crazy.

Marshall news

Although the cooler weather is here, I don’t think we have had a really killing frost yet. But I do have my stove pilot lit and can get the house warm in no time should it feel chilly. I think it is a little early but I guess it is time for cold weather. My yard mowers came by and gave my yard the last mowing for the season, this year it was October 17. Last year the last mowing was on October 12. We had more rain this year.

Welcome Home and Bear Creek

Today is Thursday. I wish Fanny Smith a happy birthday and many more. God bless you. Bonnie Marker visited me. I went to the Mountain Wave office. I visited with Leisa Younger at the Mountain Wave office. I stopped at Harps. I visited Gary West there. I called and talked to Fanny and her daughter. They were okay. They ate pizza some place in Harrison. Her daughter and two kids are going back to Branson, Missouri tonight. They stayed all night in Branson. They are going home to a different state on Friday.
