How to Set Up the Ultimate Workstation for Kids at Home

(StatePoint) Want to help guarantee your child’s academic success? While you can’t control what goes on in the classroom, you can facilitate their study time at home by setting up an A+ workstation. Here’s how: 1. Choose a location: Select a location that’s welllit, preferably with some natural light, and away from noise and distractions. Whether it’s your child’s bedroom or a corner of the dining area, the area should be large enough for all their supplies and tech to stay organized.

Martin Box news

Last week was a busy week. We attended a three-night revival at Round Mountain Church. They had a great move of God; great messages preached every night. Didn’t get to attend Sunday morning because of our own church. And we had a wedding in Fayetteville to be at 4:30. It was a beautiful wedding and their choice of place to be married was so pretty. Matt Lane Farm Stone Chapel. Inside and out, it was heavenly. The bride was beautiful and chose a handsome husband to be Mr. and Mrs. Austin Barginear. Also enjoyed time with my cousin Jake Robertson. Learned he is a nurse at Arkansas Heart Hospital. Proud of Jake! Having to leave a little early at the reception we hurriedly drove to Fort Smith not to be late with our son Steve at his church. They have been in a two-week revival baptizing 157 new people. You’d would have to have been there to feel and see the great move of God. People being healed, baptized and rejoicing. Forgot Saturday, we attended Bro. Rob Grinder’s fish fry and got to visit with several we hadn’t seen in a while. Enjoyed the food, fellowship and singing.

Around our town

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie Arkansas. We have been having some very nice weather this week with some much-needed soaking rain. Where it is just gently falling rain all day, and really knocks the grit out of the air, that the end of summer brings, like dust and dirt and ragweed pollen. We are having much cooler temperatures this week as well, Autumn is one of my favorite seasons.

Washington Update

When a loved one is suffering from physical or mental illness it often makes us feel helpless or even hopeless depending on how severe the situation looks from the outside. In the case of mental health crises like depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and suicidal thoughts, it can be difficult to know when or how to offer support.

Legislative Update

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when the world unites in a sea of pink ribbons, illuminating the urgency of breast cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. In Arkansas, more than 2,400 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.

Witts Springs news

I have seen one hummingbird this week. There is a little short tail wren around the front porch this week. I keep hearing a screech owl in the woods below the pond. I still have armadillos that are digging in the yard. There have been some hogs over in the horse pasture and the east side of the hay field. There are so many of them and they multiply pretty quick.
