Snowball News

Greetings from Snowball! As I type we’re expecting up to thirteen inches of rain to fall in our area. We were getting a dry start to the spring season, but thirteen seems a bit much for a 3-day span. Here’s hoping all the fertilizer doesn’t get washed off the fields and everyone stays safe.

The Cozyhome Connection

Well, sickness, bad weather’s return, and missing the deadline has resulted in several weeks of this article being ‘missing’ from the paper. Please forgive and tune back in with us as we start meeting the ‘Newcomers’ to the Cozyhome Community. Thankfully most of the viruses have now run their course and folks are well again but trading in those illnesses for the nagging allergies that will rise and fall with the budding trees and greenery. Speaking of greenery, isn’t it wonderful to have this glorious springtime weather back with us. Storms are never fun and there have been many serious incidents already, but the rewards of the season are the warmer temps and beautiful earth waking up from the long cold winter all around us.

Memories and Meals – Spring Delights

With new seasons comes new food! Spring brings about fresh fruits and vegetables that taste just as bright as the new spring sun! This week I have added four new recipes that all have nice spring touches with a spring tortellini salad, a chicken pesto sandwich, a lemon blueberry cake, and a nice spring lavender simmer pot, to make your house smell of spring.

The Snowball Adventure Race

Come join us for the adventure of a lifetime! The Snowball Adventure Race is the only one of its kind to be hosted in Searcy County, Arkansas. This adventure will start with a 6 mile run to the Margaret White area on the Buffalo National River, only a few hills, all gravel and great scenery. You will then jump in your boat for an 8.5 mile float down the beautiful Buffalo River to the Tyler Bend launch area. You will then pick up your bicycle at the Tyler Bend Pavilion and start the 11.5 mile gravel journey back to Snowball via the Ozark Grinder Trail. The bike portion has a few uphills, lots of gravel and amazing views of the Buffalo River.

The Cozyhome Connection

These spring storms have really wrecked havoc on our beautiful state this past week, but temps are gradually leveling out and inching upward, so maybe we will see the end of them soon & start to enjoy more outside time. Special prayers go out to all those who have losses of property and injuries from the storms. Arkansans are resilient and helpful folks though, so let’s roll up our sleeves and reach out to neighbors who need our help. (Matthew 25:35-40!)

Searcy County All-Conference Players

We are thrilled to recognize Tate Kelly, Dylan Tyler, and Mason Gregg for their selection as All-Conference players for the Bobcat 2A-2 team. Their outstanding leadership on the court this year has truly set them apart. I am incredibly proud of these young men for their unwavering effort, character, and leadership. May they continue to excel and inspire others in all that they do!
