Searcy County All-Conference Players

We are thrilled to recognize Tate Kelly, Dylan Tyler, and Mason Gregg for their selection as All-Conference players for the Bobcat 2A-2 team. Their outstanding leadership on the court this year has truly set them apart. I am incredibly proud of these young men for their unwavering effort, character, and leadership. Well, we’ve had more beautiful spring days, and I, for one, cannot get enough of them. I’m sure everyone has been finding some sore muscles from doing a little ‘yard cleaning’ after all the winter weather and strong winds we’ve endured of late.

Annual Drive for Fair Book Ads

The Searcy County fair has started the annual drive for fair book ads. This is one of the biggest fundraisers for the Fair. The funds generated during this drive allows for improvements to the fairgrounds, and enhances the funds from the department of agriculture and provides for a venue for the 4H and FFA activities for the youth of Searcy County. The deadline for fair book ads will be May 1, 2025. The people at the Searcy County Fair thank you for your continuing support for the youth of the Searcy County Fair.

The weather this week has been just marvelous, with some cool mornings and warming up not too hot by the afternoons. This is the time of year I just adore the mild temperatures of Spring in the Ozarks.

The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place Restaurant in Big Flat is Hiring for all positions. The Restaurant is planned to open in mid April and they are in need of cooks, kitchen help, and servers. The employers are looking for people with a positive attitude, outgoing, and eager to work with the team. If you love engaging with guests and take pride in providing exceptional service, they want you to be part of their staff.

Cherokee of Arkansas and Missouri Tribe Meeting

On April 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. the Cherokee of Arkansas and Missouri Tribe, the Ozark Branch, will hold their next scheduled meeting. The meeting will be held at the Arise Church, 1601 E. Main St., Mountain View, AR 72650. They ask for members to have their membership card on hand when arriving. If you have any questions or inquiries concerning this meeting, please contact your Councilman. There will be press releases happening over any tribal activities and other news as they become available. If anyone is interested in becoming a member or wants to know more about the Cherokee of Arkansas and Missouri Tribe, they encourage you to attend the upcoming meeting for more information.
