HEATHER LOUISE ANDERSON

Heather Louise Anderson, 35, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away on October 24, 2024. She was born on August 2, 1989, and raised in Mountlake Terrace, in the Greater Seattle area. At a young age, Heather was an accomplished competitive figure skater featured in competition, talent shows and at one point, was the show opener for the famous country gospel singer Ricky Skaggs. She was a graduate of one of the world’s leading cosmetology schools, Gene Juarez. She was a proudly baptized child of God, and an active choir member from an early age. She absolutely loved music and had a beautiful voice. She would dance until she dropped from exhaustion. Heather will be in the hearts of her family and friends, and forever missed by all that knew and loved her.

Appreciated what little rain we got this week. After a trip to Fayetteville to the diabetic doctor. We spent the night with Kim and had dinner with Tiffany and the kids, Khaleesi and Jackson. Don finally got an appointment on Thursday of last week to get an MRI done, but on the way home he complained of back and chest problems on to realize when he got home was blessed with a case of the Shingles after having three shingle shots. Been a miserable week but appreciate the Rev. Carl Wayne Chadwick family filling in for him on Sunday morning. Nieces Becky Blaire, Samantha Tyler, taking care of his needs. Sister Sue and Josh Farris, nephew also cooking and taking care of his chores. He went to see Dr. Jackson on Tuesday and said he was healing quite well, keep doing what he was doing.

Leslie Wins Volunteer Community award

On Tuesday, November 19 Leslie, Arkansas was selected as one of the 2024 Arkansas Volunteer Community of the Year Award winners by Engage AR. The City of Leslie was the winner of the Innovation award for a city under 10,000. The awards luncheon will be held on Thursday, January 16 at noon during the Arkansas Municipal League’s (AML) Winter Conference in Little Rock at the Statehouse Convention Center, Wally Hall Ballroom. Representatives from the Arkansas Department of Transportation will be installing road signs for Leslie proclaiming this recognition in early January.

FLOYD A. RIVERA

Floyd A. Rivera, 88, of Berryville, Arkansas passed away on November 13, 2024, in The Blossoms at Berryville Nursing Home. Floyd was born on August 21, 1936, in Amalia, New Mexico, the son of Ambrocio and Rosenda (Gallegos) Rivera. He leaves behind his sister and brother, both from New Mexico. Floyd’s sister will spread his ashes in New Mexico per his wishes. Condolences may be left at www.

Thirty-three years ago, a couple moved here from Las Vegas, Nevada. That couple, June and Andy Beaker, served as a policeman in North Las Vegas (Andy) and a records keeper in Henderson (June) and lived in between.
