Sheila’s News

Hi everyone, today is Thursday. It is fair and cold this morning. Today is Shaquille O’Neal’s birthday. Kathy and her family went to Harrison. Kathy went to the doctor and stopped at Walmart.

St. Joe News

It turned a little colder today. I didn’t get outside to do anything. I hemmed Morgan’s dress for her and cut out some outfits to sew up. Once I get a lot to cut out, I’ll take off sewing. I hate cutting out patterns. I’m looking forward to sewing again though.

Big Flat Buzz

Good morning friends. This past weekend has been horrible for many of our surrounding areas. Friday night a tornado hit 56, Blanchard, and Mountain View. 56 is basically gone. It was declared a disaster zone and beginning next week highway 14 will be closed from 341 to 87 while they do cleanup. If you need to get to Mountain View, you will need to go across by Timbo. We were lucky, the severe weather missed Big Flat completely. I have friends and family all over Missouri. From West Plains to St Louis, I had friends/family that lost everything.

Searcy County Republican Committee Meeting

On March 13, the Searcy County Republican committee held their monthly meeting at the Searcy County Fairgrounds in Marshall Arkansas. The meeting included multiple committee members as well as guests including guest speaker Victoria Kroeker from the Marshall Mountain Wave.

Snowball News

I obviously did not live through the Dust Bowl days, but I can only imagine the last week of Windy days were very similar. The loose dirt on my path to the barn is gone, the floor had been swept clean inside the old chicken house and all the vehicles have a layer of dust on them. I asked our Texas relatives to come get their dust, but they haven’t shown up yet, so I think we’re on our own.
