Buddy Jackson of Harriet

Buddy Richard Jackson, age 76 of Harriet, Arkansas died on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Baxter Regional in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born in Harriet, Arkansas on September 22, 1947 to William Rufus Jackson and Thelma Pemberton Jackson. He was married to Donna Harness Jackson for 30 years.
He was a member of East Side Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall, Arkansas. He accepted Jesus into his life at a young age and continued to serve Him his entire life.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a self-taught machinist for 45 years at Flintrock Shirt Factory. Buddy enjoyed fishing, cheering on the Razorbacks and sitting on his porch whittling with his little dog, Annie by his side. He was a family-oriented man and always put them first in his life. He loved his kids and grandkids and time spent with them was one of his greatest joys.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Jackson of the home; children, Farrell Jackson (Kim) of Marshall, Jeff Horton (Twilla) of Marshall, Candace Boere (John) of Denmark, Diana Forrester (Doyle) of Green Cove Springs, Florida and Linda Jo Casey (Chris) of Harmon; grandchildren, Ty Jackson, Grace Jackson, Colton Horton (Abby), Keely Grice, Summer Horton, Cheyanne Jackson, Kelly McClung, Tyler McClung, Kenny McClung, Heath Forrester (Meagan) and Christopher Casey; great-grandchildren, Jameson Horton, Genesis Pitcock, Gemini Pitcock, Everly Grice, Tate Casey, Michael Forrester and Barrett Forrester; siblings, Danny Jackson (Narene) of Harriet, Donnie Jackson (Arlene) of Rogers and Nadra Jackson of St. Joe; and Buddy’s little companion, Annie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Thelma Jackson; and siblings, William Dorsey Jackson, Jerry Alvin Jackson, Barbara Yeager and Betty Shivington.
Funeral services for him were 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024 at East Side Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. David Wallis officiating. Burial followed in East Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ty Jackson, Tyler McClung, Kenny McClung, Colton Horton, Heath Forrester and Christopher Casey. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Watts, Holly Joe Dye, Jeremy Tilley and Freddie Sutterfield.
