The end of 2023! This year was full of adventure and blessings. We’ll see what 2024 brings.

Hope that you had a wonderful Christmas. Monday we went to Harrison to do that last minute shopping. Tammie and I made some Christmas cookies, and we have to ice them. We had our Christmas Saturday the 23rd. All of our family’s came up for Christmas.

What time is it? Not break time but making your New Year’s Resolutions time. The most popular New Year’s tradition is making resolutions, yet research suggests only 9% of Americans actually keep those commitments.

GIFTS AND MEDICAID: GENEROSITY COULD COST YOU Mom has always given great holiday presents. Lately, though, her health hasn’t been good, and she might move to a nursing home soon. If she needs Medicaid to pay for that, could those gifts be counted against her?

Every Monday, From 9-? A service Officer from the VFW, American Legion, and Disabled Veteran will be at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall to help veterans with situations they need help with. .

The Extension Get Fit program from the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service can help! • Meet for an hour twice a week! Tuesday and Thursday at Searcy County Senior Center 9:30a.m. • Focuses on increasing strength, flexibility, and balance-Must be 18 years or older to participate • ONLY $20 for the whole year.

Searcy County Retired Teachers will meet Friday December 8th. The meeting will be held in the fellowship hall of the Leslie United Methodist Church. Luncheon will be served by the Methodist Women's group at 11:30am. This will be our Christmas dinner, which includes homemade bread and desserts for $12. All retired Searcy County school employees are invited to attend.

December 13, 2023 Hello to each of you! Sure is a busy time of the year isn’t it?? Oh, but it’s good. I told you I had my tree up last week, and now I have some lights around the front porch, and Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus on the lower side of the driveway. We were sure tired after getting that all put up. Doesn’t seem like much, but it is for us. Then Ray said, “We’re only half through you know.” Meaning the other half is when we have to take it down! Well, it may stay until March if it doesn’t warm up some!
