I’ve given quite a few gifts to my children in the past. Some of those gifts have been pretty large. Can I adjust my kids’inheritances to account for them? My daughter has done well for herself, and she has made it now. My other kids, though, are still “finding themselves,” as the saying goes. Shouldn’t I leave everything equally to each child anyway?
Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the Jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. We have had a week of just beautiful weather and we even got some rain by the weekend. The rain was slow and gentle and watered all the gardens of Leslie and kept the temperatures cool.
Dear Editor: To all the people who buy meat from the local markets. The USDA has permitted the drug companies to inject all living food; animals and vegetables with MRNA vaccine. We all know recycling is a commonsense way to be responsible stewards of our environment – but recycling also strengthens our economy and creates hundreds of thousands of well-paying jobs nationwide. This is something I believe everyone can agree is truly a “win-win.” Since 1970, we’ve recognized April 22 as Earth Day. In the spirit of this occasion, we’re working to strengthen recycling and composting to better protect our planet.
My friend complains that the bank rejected her uncle’s power of attorney, which he gave her so she could pay his bills while he was in the hospital. He even had the document notarized by an attorney. What went wrong? Maybe the document was outdated, or wasn’t comprehensive enough. But it’s also possible that the document was fine, and the problem was with the bank. Ordinarily banks are conservative by nature. Rather than take any chance that they could be sued, they would rather deal only with your friend’s uncle in person. Otherwise, it’s simply safer to insist that your friend get a court order instead. This, however, would defeat the purpose of a power of attorney in the first place!
When House members return from the spring break recess, they will begin the process reviewing proposed constitutional amendments. Those hearings will take place in the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee.
As I often travel between home and Washington, D.C., I’m constantly reminded how blessed we are to live in The Natural State. With its beautiful rivers, majestic mountains and incredible wildlife, Arkansas has long celebrated and utilized these resources in a variety of ways. The abundance of natural treasures is one of the many reasons people are drawn to the state for recreation opportunities.
