Dear Editor, A memorial service for Alvie Henson will be March 5 at 1 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church on East Main Street across from the library in Marshall.
It has been very hazardous outside with the ice coating on everything. I was going out to feed the horses and mule and had to be extremely careful to keep from slipping and falling.
We dodged another icy bullet this past week. Thank goodness, as much as I enjoy camping, it’s much more fun when you’re out of your house.
Dear Editor, The family of Alma Myrick would like to extend our sincere thanks for all the kindness extended to us at her passing. In case we missed anyone who brought food or offered other services and did not sign in, we wanted to let everyone know we appreciated everything that you did.
Witts Springs Community Voices meeting will be February 24, Thursday, at the community center. Everyone in the community is invited to attend. The meetings are to conduct business for the community center and plan fundraisers.

February 10: February came in with a bang this year. Or maybe a snap. A cold snap! While it was cold and miserable, we at least scathed by with only sleet and snow. I’m not sure of any power outages in our immediate area, so I feel all my water storing and pre-cooking food deterred the ice. So you are very welcome.
The weather was cold this week, but at least we did not have freezing rain or snow. That will let the soil get ready for the next rain or snow.
