South Mountain/Nubbin Hill news

Sunday, May 21: Well, what a week. It has been a good week in many ways. Ray and I have managed to get by pretty good. We mostly stayed home and I was just a little lazy. Ray has worked in the gardens a little and they sure look good right now. He has them plowed and weeded and then it rained on them and they just shine. His tomatoes look really pretty and he has some of the prettiest green beans you’ve ever seen. All his garden stuff looks good.

Good afternoon to everyone. We have just received a good shower of rain. I was glad to get it. Maybe it will help our garden seed to all come up. I noticed this morning some of them are beginning to peak through the ground.

Snowball news

What a weekend! The Snowball Adventure Race went off with only minor hiccups. We had quite a bit of rain which pushed the river into flood stage on Thursday, then it rained some more. By Friday morning the river was full of chocolate milk and looked pretty rough, but the sun was shining! The river fell rather quickly and after looking at multiple options and making several phone calls, I decided we would just go forth. Some participants had emailed and asked that we float anyway, they didn’t want to have to make up any distance in running or biking!

Marshall news

Our Genealogy Department has been a busy place this week. We had some folks come in that were researching Surber, Killion, Crace, Fisk and other related families. They also brought three books with family photos. So nice to get to see the photos they shared. They had family history that touched the St. Joe, Gilbert and Leslie areas.
