Snowball news

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a traditional dinner with my parents and a not so traditional meal with Will’s family. We of course ate entirely too much, but hey, it’s just once a year. Right? Thanks to all who came out and shopped the Snowball General Store on Small Business Saturday. We had a great turnout and the deals were real. In the midst of all the shoppers we managed to get the tree decorated and the windows partially decorated. The kids were in charge of the tree, just don’t look behind it, it may just be decorated on one side.

Around the Kitchen Table with Nanny

By Virginia Stevens Thanksgiving is over and we are through with the leftovers. We had a wonderful meal with Family and Friends. So now it’s time to think about what’s coming up so we have a month to lose the weight from Thursday and get ready for the next eating marathon. Oh my, that’s the really fattening one! Candies and cookies galore. Speaking of which, I’m thinking about getting a head start making some cookies very soon and putting them into the freezer. If you put them in layers with wax paper in between each layer and into a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid they keep very well. Just set them out the day before and let them thaw and they will be just like freshly made cookies.

Around our town

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. Oh my what cold and damp weather we have had this Thanksgiving week. It has been overcast and rainy for several days it has been oddly warm but you can hear old man winter howling by the end of the week. If the persimmon seeds and wooly worms are correct we are in for a doozy of a winter. Then again winter has always been a bit of a doozy to get through every year.

Snowball news

Wow! Two snows in November already! Snows are always fun for a little while, but they do disrupt normal life. Snow always looks pretty until it gets tracked up and slightly muddy, then I’d like for it to melt away.

Hello everyone. My goodness, we have had all kinds of weather in the past week. We’ve had rain, sleet and snow, cold temperature and of course, lots of wind. The sleet and snow didn’t stay very long and that is exactly like I like it. Here one minute and gone the next. It is pretty and I know it is good for the soil, so it’s okay.
