I had some folks ask me about a fire that was in Big Flat in the early months,(possibly) of 1922. A newspaper in Crane, Missouri said that the town of Big Flat, Arkansas had been mostly burned up.

Not much going on around here, awfully quiet. Sue, sister-in-law called to say she and Debbie had been to Mountain View to eat at Hardees where they have some of the best chicken strips besides the Market Place in Conway.
The 3rd annual Snowball Poker Run is less than a month away, it’s scheduled for September 24th. If you’re local, go by Trish’s Before and After Salon in Marshall. If you’re out of town, please call Cathy at 870-504-1004 to sign up. This event is open to side by sides, four wheelers or jeeps. I think the club is expecting vendors to be set up on site the day of the event. Don’t forget to order your t-shirt!
Well it’s that time again. Hope you are all well.

I have nothing remotely cool to talk about this week. There was no vacation, it was kinda hot and I had to go to work! Registration is officially open for the 3rd annual Snowball Poker Run.
Last Sunday afternoon church we met with Chadwicks and were going to try out the new restaurant in Leslie by the Red River bridge. It made a very beautiful site to eat out. Phyllis, Anna Jane and Lori were going to join us. Wouldn’t you know it was closed. Don even called to say they were open on Sunday until three, that was on Saturday. In meantime, Don proceeded to get gas at Misty’s in Leslie and a couple told him they were headed there also, and it was closed. Lori had her mom to phone us and tell us it was closed. They went on to Clinton to shop and we decided to eat at Misty’s. She always has good food and sugar free fried pies.
Rita Blair asked me about my porch progress. Told her it’s still in the works. I did hang wind chimes all around it and got my enamel table and chairs and another seating area. I sure enjoy my coffee drinking porch time. Ryan is so busy that we work on it in spare time. Will get done and move on to the next project. There are several more but only one biggie, the shop porch. Still looking for a welder, I think it will be fun to work with making different things for the yard.
