I’m back! Huge thanks to Richard Roberts for covering for me. It sounds like I missed out on a 3rd cutting of hay, a canning jar shortage, and a thermal inversion! Ok, maybe I just missed out on some much-needed rain, although those would be cool things to report on! We spent a weekend in Dodge City Kansas participating in the Dodge City Days events. Last year Whitley won first place in the 1-mile race for girls under the age of ten, so we had to go back for her to try again. She was the fastest girl under age ten again, so we’ll be headed back next year it looks like!

Good Sunday evening to all the Wave readers. It was a very nice day around our place. Eddie and I just had a lazy day after church except for a little mowing Ed did on the front yard. He had just mowed before the last rain (Thursday) and the front yard needed another trim.

Hope that everyone had a good week. Monday morning the sun was shining brightly. I went out and cut down some bushes. The ticks are really bad this year. I need to get a bag of tick grands and put it down in my yards. We received a little shower around 12:30. Tange had a little boy Wednesday at 12:30 a.m. She is doing aright. They put the baby on oxygen to help him breath. Melissa brought her grandchildren up for a visit. We always enjoy haven them. Our home phone has been out for two days. They came up and fixed it and after about one hour it went back out.

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. The heat has broken for the moment, it has only been in the 90s instead of the 100s. We did get a good soaking rain which cooled things off enough to catch our breath before August. The Dog Days of Summer are almost over because the Dog Star Cyrus is beginning to slip out of view on the horizon.

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave Readers and greetings from the Jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. After and eternity of oppressive heat, we finally got some blessed rain. Quite a bit of rain at that. It was a good gentle rain for a couple of days, so the ground could just soak it in, and the plants can drink it up. It was good to have it substantially cool things off, to give us a breath before August heats up.
