South Mountain/Nubbin Hill news
Its news time again, seems like it comes around pretty fast! We did get some rain, so thankful for that. We got 4 to 5 inches, and some cooler temperatures. Having a break in the hot/dry weather sure is nice!

As I currently type this on a Sunday night, I can hear thunder and see the lightning out my dining room window. I’d like to think the rain was falling at a steady rate to match the noise and light, but sadly I don’t think it is. I hope someone nearby is getting rain as it passes.
Hello again. I’m guessing everyone is about like us out here at Zack dry and dusty.
July 17, 2022. Hope this finds my readers doing well. Many of you have told me you read my news every week, and I thank you for that. I guess I feel like I’m talking to my friends when I write. Hope you can stay cool the next few days because it is supposed to be around 100 degrees for several days. I guess I will “hug” the air conditioner! Two things here: 1. Hope the air don’t go off. 2. Hope we can pay the electric bill. I figure most of you feel the same way.
It has definitely been hot and dry. I have been watering a few things enough to keep them alive. I did not get much planted in the garden, so it does not take long to water the garden. I have some shrubs I brought starts of from Mom’s that I am watering.
Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. Oh my to say it has been hot this week is an understatement. The temperature was as high as 102 on my front porch. There has been no rain in sight, this puts me in mind of a play by N. Richard Nash called “The Rainmaker”. Where a town is so desperate for rain they hire a rainmaker, who of course is a conman taking them for all their money. I don’t think we are that desperate yet and I don’t think it is in the city budget to hire a rainmaker at this point, but I shall keep you all posted.
Hope that everyone had a good and safe 4th of July. Larry has his hay done. Now he has to move it off of the field. I hope that we can go to the lake soon. I did clean the pontoon tubes and seats. They look like new. We have the power line men putting in new poles. Monday Larry took Melissa, Tammie, and me to Harrison to do some shopping. We had some pizza for dinner.
Good Monday morning. I went to the Mountain Wave office.
Hello again. It is still hot weather and no rain. Everything is just drying up and the garden looks pitiful in the heat of the day. We are thankful for the vegetables we have had to enjoy. We keep hoping for cooler weather and praying for rain.
We can finally say summer is here and say we look forward to it being over. They said Mountain Home had a record temperature of 99 degrees Thursday. Steve is in Chicago bragging of temperature 75 degrees Saturday. Enjoy it is all I can say.
