Until now, we have no President in a time of distress. It looks like WWIII is near by since Biden okayed for U.S. made weapons to be used against Russia, but we have China, South Korea, Iran, and others to contend with. A President out of his mind and VP on vacation.

South Mountain/Nubbin Hill

Hello out there! Hope you are doing well; Ray and I are doing okay. I am recouping from a “sleep study” I had last night. Laugh all you want I did look like the bionic woman! It was awful, but I made it and now just wait and see what they found out. I was ready to get up at 5 am and get rid of the wires that were tangled around me! Glad that’s over and so glad to be home.

The Cozyhome Connection

Harvey Page Honeycutt was born in Big Flat, Arkansas. He moved to Cozahome in the 40’s as a one-month-old. His five older siblings (2 brothers and 3 sisters: JC, Melvin, Louise, Obeda, & Marie) remember and have told him stories of his first home here – under the bluff! His brothers remember that they used sawmill slabs to block off the outer open wall to enclose it. They jokingly tell all that theirs was the only house in all of Cozyhome that had running water as it poured steadily off the bluff above their home. Harvey’s mother became ill and passed when he was only 14 months old, and with six children to look after, his father reached out for help with them.

Thanksgiving is approaching fast. I’ll be putting an extra notch in the belt this week, I think. When I was a young boy we used to have a family football game on Thanksgiving day. You know, so we could all work up a hearty appetite. Everyone always wanted to be quarterback, throwing the longbomb to the cousin in the end zone.

Happy Thanksgiving! Where has this time gone? I got busy last week and the time slipped away before I could get anything submitted. Last week I had the local ladies’ riding group, Buffalo Gals, over for a ride. We were able to make a pretty good loop from my house and had a great time. Some of these same ladies are members of the Back Country Horsemen group and presented to the Boone County 4-H Horse Club on Sunday afternoon. The most striking stand out was their board showing the decay times for common items. Newspapers take 2-3 years, a plastic bottle takes 100 years and an aluminum can take 400 years!
