Grassy Gap news
Hope that everyone had a good week. Monday turned out to be a nice day. I have been busy pulling weeds out of my flower beds and giving them to my chickens. I took up the pants for Jesse and his friend for the wedding.

Witts Springs Community Voices meeting will be Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. at the community center. Fundraisers, maintaining and improving the buildings and grounds and general management of the campus are what the meetings are for.
Has been a beautiful week with outside weather. Tuesday was a perfect day to drive to Conway to visit my brother, J.B. and sister-in-law, Maryagnes Moore. We took a tour of their new home to which we loved after we found it. Actually, J.B. had to come out and stand on the corner so we could locate his home. We were right there, just didn’t turn right on the right street. It was a new housing district that Siri didn’t have down with directions. Loved their house and visiting them was the best. Great to see them! They treated us to dinner at “Eat my Catfish”. The food was excellent and fried pies were to die for being diabetics. Took us to Sam’s to shop and back home to visit some more. Spent the whole day with them, missing our usually night-time visits with the Rainbolts at Loco Amigos on Tuesday. They understood because we made plans ahead of time for usual next Tuesday meeting. So thankful we got to go visit and make a few minutes into memories.
May 14 Beans planted finally. Haven’t found a dry spot to plant the strawberries.
Hope that everyone enjoyed the warmer weather we are having. Tuesday afternoon we took Tammie to see her ear doctor at Beltone for a hearing test and get her old hearing aids cleaned.
Sunday and the rain is pouring down with lightning and lots of thunder. We went to Round Mountain Church after our church Sunday, we were invited to Bro & Sis Kathy Dows 58th wedding anniversary dinner. The food was delicious. They had them a real pretty anniversary cake made to honor the event. Had a real good crowd. We got to visit with several folk we hadn’t seen in a while. To which was good to see them especially since all of this Covid stuff.
After the Snowball Adventure Race and Musicfest, I don’t have a lot to report on in Snowball this week! The Snowball Civic Club will be hosting an evening of fun on June 11th at the Pavilion. There will be food, corn hole games, and horseshoes. It is a donation only event. Please bring your lawn chairs.
My orioles and hummingbirds have just left. I don’t know if it is because the cat has been sitting on the patio, or because of extra activity last week. I had help putting in the tankless water heater in the laundry room then a few days later the crew was here putting in my whole house backup generator. So far, I have not had to use it. But the weather forecast is for some strong storms with 60 mph winds and possible golf ball sized hail. I have seen a couple of scissor tail flycatchers. There are still some gold finches around.
Well, hello out there. Hope you got a shower of rain today. This is nice, so thankful for showers and a little cool weather. It sure was hot this past week! It went from chilly spring to hot summer in one week, but today has been nice. Looks like this week’s weather will be really good.
