Wow! What a weekend in Snowball! It was a happening place on Saturday! As most of you know, all the rain we took in last week, proved to be too much for the river to handle, therefore our route had to be altered to exclude the river. We had to have a ‘moderate’ level before we could put participants on the river, and it was still ‘high’ on Saturday.

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. I have been gone from home for the past 2 weeks helping an elderly relative move from a very large house to a very small apartment. This kind of thing must be done with care and a lot of listening. Listening to a lot of stories about his life and many, many people that I will never know. I think it is important to listen to these stories as we downsized his life of the past 30 years he was living in this rather large house. Downsized to what was needed in his new much smaller apartment and much smaller life. That is part of getting older, your life can sometimes get much smaller. It is a shame that people don’t live in multigenerational homes so much anymore. If you find yourself helping an elderly person downsize their lives. Do it with as much kindness as you can muster. It is said that when an old person dies it is like a library has been burned to the ground.

Hope that everyone had a good week. We went down to Vonda’s and had supper at New China. The food was really good. After supper Vonda took us to a park. They had a lot of wood carvings large and small. There were two good bands playing and even a hot balloon you could ride in.

Hoping everyone had a great Mother’s Day. I certainly did, all of our children were in service with us Sunday. Made the day special. Had a good turn out and dinner was very good. Mother’s Day winners were Lori Ragland, Pam Cannada and Kim Campbell. Had help with the program, Steve and Jackson did a great job helping me. Several first-time visitors and had several regular out sick. Wish them a speedy recovery.

The Snowball Adventure Race and Snowball Music Fest is This Weekend! Registration has closed and we’re looking at hosting approximately 60 folks in our little community! Please keep your fingers crossed that the river doesn’t rise too high, if the water is over a ‘moderate’ level, we have to remove that section from our course.

News time! I have really enjoyed the spring like weather this weekend. It was very nice. So nice that Eddie and I decided to work on a flower bed that needed redone. Well, we worked hard all right, but didn’t get finished this weekend. Hope the rain stays away for a few days so we can finish up. Eddie and Sebrena went to Hollister on Saturday to pick up the supplies we had picked out.
