Snowball news

The Snowball Civic Club Trail Ride went off Saturday without a hitch. There were approximately twenty riders, with the youngest being only 3 months old! It appeared everyone had a great time and enjoyed their hot dogs by the river. Thanks to everyone who attended!

St. Joe news

1 week: I was helping Joe work on the mower. We had to raise it up on a block to get the part off. I pulled the block out and dropped it on my tow. So, while I’m yelling and yes, cussin’, Joe is having a great time laughing at me. It’s still sore too.

I saw a monarch flying resolutely north this afternoon. Their migration is truly a miraculous thing from the far north in summer and down to a special spot in the mountains of Mexico for winter where they all congregate from everywhere east of the Rockies into just a few acres. Scientists measure the number of acres they take up to know whether their population is growing or falling and the last I knew they’re down to between 2 and 3 acres for the last few years.

4/14/22: The Snowball Civic Club Trail Ride is right around the corner. If you haven’t RSVP’ed yet, please do so. Nothing is worse than riding, then being hungry. Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. We have had our first full week of early spring weather. It was a very rainy week but warmer than it has been. We did get a cold snap one night and it frosted in some places that are a little higher in altitude than we are in Leslie. There were a number of tornados around us, and we have had a few thunderstorms but mostly gentle rain and a lot of it.
