Grassy Gap news
Hope that everyone had a good week. Monday I went to Harrison to pick up a few things for Tammie. It rained on us off and before we got home it really rained hard. The county roads were really muddy and a mess. We had a rough time getting home.

I’ve got to say I look forward to the column by Claudia Goodman Lay Hastlings, Buffalo River remember at 80 years of age. Interesting, a lot more stories of the county need to be told and remembered. History of the old railroad stories, Gilbert, Arkansas town of years of past. Most of our old timers (no disrespect intended) because as I understand we are the old timers now. They are slowly passing and lots of stories went with them. Roy Ragland (my 1st cousin) told some good stories of years past at my two aunts funeral services not too long ago, needs to be printed for all to read.
South Mountain/Nubbin Hill news
What a beautiful Sunday, if you stay inside and look out the window. We did get out and go to church, but the wind was pretty chilly to me, and it didn’t get much better. I have been chilly all day today. I will be so glad when it warms up in the 70’s at least. I keep thinking it will be warm tomorrow, but then when tomorrow comes, it’s still chilly.

The forsythias are in full bloom. I noticed the spirea are blooming as well. The daffodils are very pretty and have been blooming for a couple weeks. I noticed the hydrangeas are starting to put out shoots. My button bush is getting a few leaves starting to come out.
Around our town
Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave Readers and greetings from the Jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. What another week of glorious weather we just had. Even on days that were overcast and gloomy, seemed warm and bright after the seemingly long cold winter. We saw the first day of spring, I am so happy to have made it through another winter. Specifically, the doldrums of winter at the end when you are just tired of being cold and not enough sunlight. We also had to spring ahead one hour on our clocks, what a hassle that is in my life. The time change always puts me in a bit of a tailspin. It is this time of year when I just don’t seem to know what time it is.

Greetings from Snowball: “The Gateway to the Richland Valley” Ms. Rachel asked me to write the news this week as she is Missing In Action.
St. Joe news
Joe came over and we got the storm door installed. Not an easy project either. Looks so good and now can leave the door open to enjoy the outside. Course we had to fuss and fight the whole time. I threatened to call Billie and Patti, but it didn’t faze him at all. I also had a good visit with Joe and Billie on Sunday. She’s selling buildings at St. Joe and will now be selling carports. She’s busy and ambitious. Going to give it to her, she’s got more energy than most people.
