If anyone is interested in volunteering, SC Humane Society is looking for you. They want to show you the most rewarding time spent in the day. Volunteers are the lifeblood of what they do for the pets of Searcy County. They are a shelter located at 6253 Hwy. 65 South in Marshall, AR 72650.
There are lots of exciting happenings at Marshall Elementary! Christmas break is around the corner. Schedules are full with joyful activities, Christmas programs are being performed, and our children are still learning.
Monday, January 22, 2024, at 6:00 pm Searcy County Fairgrounds Member orientation and sign up assistance. Joining 4H is free! Anyone interested in participating or volunteering in 4H is encouraged to attend, including those who only show in the fair.
Searcy County Retired Teachers will meet Friday December 8th. The meeting will be held in the fellowship hall of the Leslie United Methodist Church. Luncheon will be served by the Methodist Women's group at 11:30am. This will be our Christmas dinner, which includes homemade bread and desserts for $12. All retired Searcy County school employees are invited to attend.

Neighbors brought pears, pear butter in the future. Will be good for Christmas. Someone, somewhere, at some time told me how they liked pear butter. Never forgot the comment but forgot the who. Will be good to be making jelly, jam and butters again. Peaches, blackberries and strawberries in freezer. Love jelly making. Maybe I’ll remember or someone will tell me it was them who wanted pear butter.
We had a beautiful (little cooler) Sunday today. Certainly, made nap time more enjoyable! We had lunch today at the Red River Cafe with most of the kids.
It has remained hot and dry this week. The grass is starting to sound crunchy when you walk on it.
