We had a beautiful (little cooler) Sunday today. Certainly, made nap time more enjoyable! We had lunch today at the Red River Cafe with most of the kids.

It has remained hot and dry this week. The grass is starting to sound crunchy when you walk on it.
We have had several guests visit us at the Genealogy Department. We always enjoy folks stopping by to visit with us and research their family connections. Bob and Bronwyn stopped by researching train schedules in the early 1900’s. They are working really hard at the museum. September 9 and 10 will be the Peace Society event. Hopefully everyone will get to stop in and see what all they are doing at that time. Contact Darryl Treat, of Melissa Smyth or Bob and Bronwyn at the museum for more information.
This is another hot day, so Summer is really sticking around. It is good weather to put up hay, which that is what Randall and Lane are doing. They are hoping to finish tomorrow. Randall has a doctor’s appointment, so he will have to be gone part of the day. It is so hot I hate for them to have to be out in it, but they seem to be doing okay.
August 27 Hello to everybody! Yay….the hot weather is gone for now! Today has been nice. I wish we could have had some rain, but some people got rain and that helps. It is cooler and I’m thankful for that.
Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. It has been nothing but scalding hot this past week. With temperatures over 100 degrees and feeling ever hotter with the heat index added in. It did cool off a little and have a small break in the weather by the weekend. I am looking forward to cooler weather that is for certain.
Whole fryer 3 Tablespoons oil 1 lb. Cajun sausage (large slices) 1/2 lb.
News time again. We are grateful for the rain received this week.
August Lately, there have been ads for Vermont on TV. They open with a beautiful snowy mountain scene. This is hardly fair in Arkansas in the middle of a heat wave. With the early drought, wave after wave of heat and humidity, nights too hot for the tomatoes to germinate, I quickly moved from my schedule of summer complaining to quiet despair.
Hope everyone had a good week. We went to Harrison Monday so we could do a little shopping. Larry went to Star City Mo. So he could get some parts for my tractor. After he left there he went down to Gravette Ar. and bought a mower so he could mow the field next to the garage. He should get his tractor back this week. I have pulled my turnips and will can them this week. I got some of my jars down and washed them.
