Our days at the Genealogy Department have been busy recently. We rearranged furniture so we now have a place to display some old pictures we have had for quite a while. Visitors had stopped into research family files. Some of the names they were researching were Rinkles/Wrinkles, Holley, Lowarence, some were looking at our Crackerbarrell books, and others were interested in our newspapers on microfilm. We were glad that they visited us and hope they stop in again.

There have been several visitors to our Genealogy Department, it is a good place to get in out of the hot weather outside. Some were talking about old maps, and some were researching their family connections. One fella stopped in to research his Hollabough family, one lady was looking for Youngblood family information. One man was wanting information about a sawmill that got washed away during a flood up around Mt. Hersey about 1922.

The weather has been fairly nice lately. The mornings start off a little cool but by afternoon it has been pretty pleasant. We may have some stormy weather about mid-week. I believe that the weather guys have been cautioning folks about getting in a hurry to plant things that might not take frosty temperatures.

Around our town

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the Jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. We sure had a rough patch of weather this week. It was very cold, and we had some very rare weather events, we had a couple of thunder sleet storms. I have never experienced one, it was just very odd to have frozen sleet falling and thunder clapping at the same time. Well thunder sleet it did for a couple of days until we had a couple of inches of ice on the ground. The temperatures were so that some ice would melt during the day and be a very deadly slick sheet of ice by morning. My old dog Mr. Red Dog was having none of it, cold frozen rain and thunder no thank you. Today though is just gloriously bright from the sunshine and ice still on the ground and sparkling like diamonds.

Tuesday night before all of the bad weather started, we got to go to Loco Amigos for Taco Tuesday and fellowship with our good friends, the Rainbolts from Pindall and enjoy a good Mexican meal. Sis. Rainbolt showered me with my first birthday card and gift I told her the first person that usually told me with my first birthday card and gift. I told her the first person that usually told me Happy Birthday for several years was my Uncle Howard who passed and then Becky Lewis took the lead and now is the first except this year, second. Sure enough when I got home on my phone was a text from Becky. Still, my number one girl.
