Sorry about missing the news last week. I was trying to move my computer into a place where there was better lighting. Well me being like wrong way Feldon, I did not get my connections back like they should have been. I tried all weekend to put them back like they had been, but it just kept coming out wrong. So I had to get someone who knew what to do to fix it. Thanks Randy.

MES costume parade

On Friday, October 29 students Kindergarten through third grade was escorted by their teachers, Marshall Fire Department, and Marshall Police department for a parade from the Elementary all the way around the square and back up to the school. Local businesses and residents were handing out candy to the students as they passed on their trip through the square. Pictured above is some of the students being escorted by Marshall Fire Department and their teachers.

SCSO holds Trunk or Treat

On Saturday, October 30 the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office held a trunk or treat event at the Sheriff’s office located in Marshall. Children and adults were encouraged to dress up and visit the event to receive candy from them. Pictured above (left to right) is three-year-old Westin Watts, Sheriff Kenny Cassell and SC Deputy Caleb Horn.

Searcy Co. Senior Center

The Searcy County Senior Activity Center is open for inside dining and will be offering curbside until July 9. Hot meals to those over 60 years of age Monday through Friday from 11:30. a.m. until 12 noon and indoor dining is from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m. The center is still providing hot meals for the elderly in Searcy County for a suggested $3 donation. Come by and pick up a meal and enjoy it in your own home. Call the center for more information or to order your meal. 870-448-2999.

Searcy County Election Commissioners

On Thursday, October 14 during the Republican committee meeting Searcy County residents Jeff Cotton and John Eaton were sworn in by County Clerk Debbie Loggins as two of the three Searcy County Election Commissioners. The third commissioner was L.C. Ratchford. Monthly Republican meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Los Aztecas Restaurant. Meetings are open to the public and all are welcome. Pictured above (left to right) is John Eaton and Jeff Cotton.
