(StatePoint) They say, “you can’t buy love,” but scammers have figured out a way to exploit it for profit. Romance scams are at an all-time high and, while victims cross all demographics, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reports that elders are increasingly targeted.
Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. We have had another bit of early Spring weather this past week. It has been very warm and muggy and then very cold almost frosty in the early mornings. It warmed up some then that old north wind began to blow, and it was very windy and rather chilly, at least the sun was shining. It was very warm and overcast on Easter Sunday. All in all, it has just been an our usual toppy turvy weather that we have become accustomed to here in the Beautiful Ozarks. If you are unhappy with the weather stick around a minute and it will change as the saying goes.
If you’re reading this, you have survived the eclipse! I’m sure next week I’ll have some interesting stories to tell concerning the event. Last week I just thought winter was back.
Visiting me last Saturday was son, Eric and wife Tammy, granddaughter Ashley and great grandson, Gio. While here they went to the Jeff Carnahan Farm to purchase a registered pig for Gio to show in the County Fair.

March 27, 2024 Here we are with another chilly day. We had frost here last night, down to 30 degrees, and it killed Ray’s 3 tomato plants, and 2 pepper plants. Well, that happens. He covered them with a bucket, but it got them anyway. He thinks everything else survived. So, now he has Potatoes, squash, green beans all planted, and lettuce, onions, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, egg plant are up and so far surviving. After tonight we think we might be safe. Don’t count on it for sure!
