June 27 marks the birthday of Elton Britt, one of country music’s earliest stars and a proud native of Zack, Arkansas in Searcy County. Though he passed away in 1972, Britt’s music continues to resonate today—finding new audiences online and earning a well-deserved resurgence of appreciation.
