SCSD Teachers Recognized with State Merit Pay Awards

Several outstanding educators in the Searcy County School District have been recognized for their dedication and impact in the classroom through Arkansas School Merit Pay awards. These awards, funded through the Merit Teacher Incentive Fund established by the LEARNS Act (Act 237), reward teachers who demonstrate exceptional student growth, work in critical shortage areas, or serve as mentors to aspiring educators.

The Searcy County Historical Society will meet Friday, June 27 at 7:00 pm in the First Christian Church. The guest speaker will be Tammy Bridwell, Searcy County Library Director, who will tell the story of the creation of the Searcy County Library and how an Evanston, Illinois citizen who had only the Bible to read as a poor farm boy in the Ozark Mountains would have a library dedicated in his honor on April 23, 1961. It was the Jim G. Ferguson, Searcy County Library.
