Scraps One reason that I took up quilting was that it seemed a creative way to make use of scraps of fabric. Little did I know that it is an addiction that is fed by shopping trips for fabric, to match those little scraps you were trying to use up. Using up the scraps is such a lofty goal.
Sep 8: Friday, September 2nd. The newspaper wanted our news in by 3:00 today, so my news will be a little short this week. Hope you are all doing well and looking forward to a great weekend. We are looking forward to having the girls and their families here on Sunday afternoon for a late birthday party for Malcolm Smith and Makayla Bixler. They both had August birthdays and due to Susan having Covid we put the party plans off a week.

The Searcy County Fair was last week. I hope everyone got to go visit and had a great time. I saw photos of the canned goods at the fair. I was reminded of Aunt Bea’s pickle recipe. I know that the canned goods that the ladies brought to the fair here were delicious.
Last week’s column was a bit short due to a Friday due date instead of Monday morning, I’ll try to make up for it this week. Congratulations to Allan Passmore! He placed 2nd in the Great Southern Stone Skipping contest held over Labor Day weekend with 32 skips! Don’t forget to sign up for the Snowball Poker Run coming up on September 24th.
