Poor Jess is having a terrible day. First, Jumper is sick so they had to stay home from school. Then, something got into the chicken house and killed a chicken. Then the dog mangled a chicken and it died. The dog had been playing with the chickens from the time she got them, so it came as a surprise. Anyway, she got wire over here and worked on the chicken house all afternoon trying to critter proof it. She was so upset, and Olive was boohooing all over the place. It was pretty sad. I hope it got straightened out. Oh, she also set a live trap to catch the critter. I’m sure it’s a possum, aggravating things they are.

Around Our Town

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. We have certainly had a very rainy Spring this year. The April showers that bring May flowers have stuck around for a little while longer. With all of the rain we have had this season the grass is growing like crazy. Everything is just lush and green and there is standing water on top of the ridges where there are springs that bubble up to the surface. The aquifers are full as can be and the ground is saturated. It has been a cool and lovely Spring so far cool in the mornings and not too hot in the afternoons. Although with the great amount of water and weather conditions everything is turning into a jungle.
