Operation Christmas Child of North Central Arkansas is having a rummage sale/ Expo at East Oakland Baptist Church on 3095 Highway 62 E, Mountain Home, AR 72653. It will be on Friday, Sept. 2 from noon to 6pm and Saturday, Sept. 3 from 7:30am to noon.
OZARK OPPORTUNITIES, INC. has announced that the Summer Non-Emergency & Crisis Energy Assistance Programs will begin Monday, July 25, 2022. The Programs’ goal is to assist low-income households cope with the high costs of electric for cooling their homes in the summer months. This is a one-time assistance payment per program and program year. The programs will run through September 30, 2022, or until funds have been exhausted. See below for contact information.
Aug 24: Good morning. It’s a lovely day so far. The temperature is so pleasant we have turned off the air conditioner and opened doors. It is sure to get warmer but for now, I am enjoying the moderate temps.
This week wasn’t much of an adventure. Both of my girls ended up getting sick this week. The eldest came down with Flu B and Strep. Then twenty-four hours later her sister came down with Flu B too. Fastforward to Saturday and my husband ended up coming down with Strep. I’m scared to say that I’m in the clear so far. Then I ended up taking a flu test on Friday, but it was negative. Thank goodness! I guess it’s just a matter of time, but I can hope right?
Hi everyone. It rained one inch and ½ one day last week. Today is Monday. The U of A will start class this morning. Let’s all pray for the kids and teachers to be safe. Kathy will go to Jonesboro, Arkansas to work there. Later in the week she will go to Memphis, Tennessee. I went to the Mountain Wave office. I visited with Leisa Younger and one girl there. Sue Grinder called me. They are okay. I worked in the yard. I picked up rocks.

Today I’d like to talk about the steps we are taking to reduce violent crime in Arkansas. In 2017, there was a shooting at the Power Ultra Lounge in Little Rock.
On Saturday, August 20 Searcy County fair exhibitors brought their livestock exhibits to the livestock health and poultry testing day. This day is set to check the health of animals and get the needed vaccines as well as needed test completed on livestock for them to be shown at the county fair. Searcy County Fair will be held September 6-10, 2022. Come to the fair and have breakfast or lunch, look at all the exhibits and talk to the exhibitors and thank a fair board member for all their hard work.
On Monday, September 5 the Marshall Mountain Wave office will be closed due to the Labor Day holiday. We will need all correspondence, obituaries, Ads, editorial pieces, etc. by Friday, September 2. The printing company is requiring us to have our pages to them as soon as possible. We have a dropbox near the entrance to our office and you can place your items in there and we will get them.
