Searcy County Historical Society Meeting

The Searcy County Historical Society will meet Friday, May 23, at the First Christian Church at 7:00 pm. Guest speaker will be Special Projects Historian Holly Hope who will share information on the evolution of the workshops in Arkansas and how she determines which cemeteries to host them in, what areas of preservation to address, and how to choose an instructor, and why certain materials and techniques are used.

Searcy County Achieves Certification as ACT® Work Ready Community

Searcy County announced it has met all criteria to become a certified ACT Work Ready Community, demonstrating its commitment to developing a strong workforce pipeline, desirable to employers, economic developers and current and future citizens of the county. Searcy County Judge Tony Horton said, “A tool like ACT Work Ready is a win-win. It will help Searcy County grow by bringing in workers but also making us an appealing place to work for hometown residents, too. A great effort by all involved!”

The Cozyhome Connection

Well, the Cozyhome Church parking lot has a beautiful new covering of gravel and the brush from the additional clearing has all been burned away leaving an amazing view of the hills in the distance. We had 28 in attendance Easter Sunday for church and it was such a blessing to be there! Hope all reading this were blessed as well. He lives, y’all, and He loves us every one! Two families that have had construction projects going on for the past few weeks are happy to report completion of those big jobs. Congrats on the expansions to the McGruders and the Treats (aka hubby & me!). Thanks to so many who helped with these big endeavors.
