Good evening all, yes I sit here on a Sunday evening and type in my news. It was a warm one again today, Eddie and I took a drive to Missouri and the fields were so dry, any little spark could start a fire so easily. With a good air conditioner, the drive was very nice.

Tuesday, Don and I decided to go and have lunch at the Senior Citizen Center. Greeted by friendly ladies Mrs. Pam and Miss Linda. They served the food, to which was very good. You need to check it out, nice, clean, friendly place, air condition, where you can go sit and enjoy a healthy meal and meet new people. They also have all kinds of activities for you to enjoy and participate in.

Hensley joins Arkansas Quilt Trails

On Friday, July 15 Nancy Hensley of the Searcy County Library hired Embee E.to paint a 2x2 Barn Quilt block for her. Embee is the daughter of Jessicca Eversaw of Damascus, the granddaughter of Cindy and David Garmoe of Searcy County. This is the beginning of a three-generation endeavor. On her journey to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps, this was her first paid project. The quilt block is in memory of Vickie Phillips Pruetzel.

WS July 4th Horseshoes Cornhole Contests

On Monday, July 4 the Witts Springs community held their Independence Day celebrations. This year’s horseshoes winners were, first place winners for horseshoes (pictured above) were Mike Cullum & Steve Howard. Second place winners for horseshoes were Jordan Brian & Mark Blair. The winners of the Corn Hole contest were (pictured below) first place Corn Hole winners were Mike Cullum & Steve Howard. Second place Corn Hole winners were Tim Muncy and Lacie Holmes.
