To Mow or Not to Mow It’s hard to believe that’s even a question. But it is. There have been some articles in my Google feed suggesting that, as a way to help pollinators, you just don’t mow during the month of May because there are so many wildflowers blooming then that help bees and butterflies.
On Wednesday, May 25 the Marshall City Hall held the open house of their new building now located on Highway 65 in Marshall. Visitors were invited to have lunch and tour the new building. For lunch there were grilled hotdogs, chips, cookies, and cupcakes. The Searcy County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to commemorate the occasion. Good morning. Well, this was the 49th Homecoming over the weekend. From what I understand there was a huge turnout. I was under the weather, so I missed out on the festivities. Daddy went up for a bit and really enjoyed seeing neighbors. I hope to have names of event winners within the next couple of weeks.
The Snowball Civic Club’s fun night is still scheduled for June 11th at the Pavilion! There will be food, corn hole games, and horseshoes. It is a donation only event. Please bring your lawn chairs.

Sid Lowrance with the Marshall Rotary is proud to announces the 2022 Dr. R.E. Weaver scholarship winners. Lisa Cox, Marshall High School Counselor was present at the weekly meeting on Friday May 20 to support the students. Karley Dixon, daughter of Tommy and Paula Dixon, she plans to attend North Arkansas College in Harrison and major in Education/ Political Science. Jerry Patterson presented the $1,000.00 scholarships to each of the three students. Brooklyn Kelley, daughter of Dennis and Sami Kelley, she plans to North Arkansas College in Harrison and major in Agri Business. Max Beavers, son of Clint and Holly Beavers, he plans to attend University of Arkansas Community College of Morrilton and major in Surveying.
