Part Eleven: She made bread every day. Usually, we had biscuits with breakfast and cornbread with supper. We had every kind of vegetable imaginable, fresh in the summer and canned in the winter. That land on the river was the land of plenty! During the growing season, we had lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, radishes, cucumbers for dinner and supper every day. We didn’t make them into a salad we just served a big platter with all neatly organized. We never used salad dressing on them either. We had sweet potatoes, Irish potatoes, and red potatoes most of the year. They raised a big garden and knew how to preserve food for the winter. Mom always saved seeds from her vegetables to plant the next year.
Lawns My front yard contains grass of at least 3 kinds. I know this because I planted two of them, fescue for shade, and before that, rye to cover some bare places in the shade and to make a plant nursery for the fescue later.
You wrote once that we should refuse to sign arbitration clauses in nursing home contracts. Last week I saw that the Arkansas Supreme Court said something on that subject, but I couldn’t understand it.
Hi everyone. It is cloudy and 65 here. I went to the Mountain Wave office. I visited with Leisa Younger there. Then I went to the doctor’s office. I need to take a blood test. I visited with Tommy Baker and Chris there. They were okay. Then I went home.

The 2022 North Arkansas Ancestor Fair is on this year after missing two years due to covid. Sponsored by the Searcy County Historical Society, a 501 (c) 3 organization. The North Arkansas Ancestor Fair will be held Saturday, June 4, in Veterans Hall, Marshall, Arkansas. It is a free event, both for providers and for seekers. The Ancestor Fair’s schedule is much simpler this year. There will be no speakers, only free tables, chairs and WiFi for information providers and information seekers.
This is to remind everyone that the 31st North Arkansas Ancestor Fair is to be held Friday and Saturday, June 3 & 4, 2022 in Marshall, Arkansas. The schedule is: Friday, June 3: Mixer-Dinner at 5 pm at Los Aztecas Mexican Restaurant Saturday, June 4: 7:30 am–Veterans Memorial Hall open for Providers to bring in materials and select table.
The Cherokee of Arkansas and Missouri (CAM) Tribe, Ozark Branch (District #8) next scheduled meeting will be on June 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be at the Arise Church, 1601 E.
