February 10: Well, I’m hoping winter is about over! I have had enough cold, sleet, and snow, for a while! I am ready for it to warm up and stay warm. I know we will still have some cold weather, so I will plan on it, but I am ready for springtime! Hope this finds all of you doing well and not snowed in anymore. We still have snow and slush. We rode down the road in the side by side, and it sure is messy out there, and some slick spots too. They did run the grader over our road and got the snow off but left the sleet and ice. Maybe it will all melt soon. I guess we had an inch of sleet and 2 or 3 inches of snow, but I am thankful we didn’t get the freezing rain!

Hello to everyone. After all the terribly cold days and nights along with the ice, sleet and snow we are having some nice days and the stuff is melting, so we may be getting close to normal again. Of course, it may not be long until we get another round. Ha. After all it is wintertime.

Snow days around Searcy County

On Wednesday, February 2 the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm warning for several counties around Arkansas. Searcy County received half an inch to two inches of snow and ice. Searcy County School District dismissed around 11 a.m. Wednesday morning due to the impeding weather. Several businesses were shut down due to the weather. County and City workers worked diligently to maintain the roads. Pictured right is Kaelynn Rolen enjoying the snow day with her dogs Molly and Kalik.
