Hello from Zack. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. We had a good one. Anytime we can have our kids and grandkids with us is a good one. Fulks as new 4-H agent

On November, 1 Ashley Fulks took over the position of University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Family Consumer Science/4-H Agent for Searcy County. She grew up in Timbo and graduated from there. While in high school she was active in FFA and 4-H. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Family Consumer Science at the University of Central Arkansas located in Conway. She is a member of the Timbo Landmark Missionary Baptist church. She is excited and blessed to have this opportunity to meet and serve the people of Searcy County.

Washington Update

Arkansans are unfortunately all too familiar with the impact of Mother Nature and what it takes to rebuild after natural disasters. Now we face that undertaking again after a record-setting tornado system tore through Northeast Arkansas, claiming two lives and damaging property. The images are devastating, but individuals, business owners and community leaders are demonstrating the resiliency and determination that has come to define our citizens in the aftermath of tragic events.

SCSD superintendent announces retirement

Superintendent Alan Yarbrough has announced his upcoming retirement, effective June 30, 2022. Yarbrough made the announcement in the regular meeting of the Searcy County School District School Board on November 15, 2021. Yarbrough expressed how much he had enjoyed his 31 years in education, 27 of those at Searcy County School District, and feels blessed by being surrounded by teachers, administrators, school board members, district employees, and friends who desired the best for our students and district. Board members expressed their appreciation to him for his hard work and dedication.
