McIntosh reception announced

Sherry Gilbert McIntosh and George McIntosh (also known as Generator George) were wed on September 24, 2021 at Hot Springs Arkansas. They recently purchased a commercial building in the mall area of Fairfield Bay Arkansas and would love for their friends to come wish them well at a reception which will be held at their new building which is across the street from the Cobblestone Inn in Fairfield Bay.

This week started off windy for two days. I have fixing cookies and Tammie has cut them out for me. I have made fudge, Peanut brittle Chocolate pretzels, Oatmeal cookies Hi-Ho cookies. We have sent out a lot of Christmas cards.

Snowball news

We are looking at events for 2022, if you’d like to see an event happen in Snowball, please reach out and let us know as soon as you can! The Searcy County Chamber is working on the 2022 calendar and we want to be on it. Even if it’s as small as a chili supper for local Snowball-ians, let’s save the date! Please feel to call or text me with your ideas. The only big things we have on the radar currently are the Snowball Adventure Race on May 7, 2022 and we’re holding September 24, 2022 for an off road event.

Well folks, it’s winding down. Christmas is almost here. I love to see it come and I love to see it go. That’s kind of sad isn’t it. But it is such as busy time, I think I’m glad for things to slow down again. Santa spotted in SC

On Saturday, December 11 the Searcy County Senior Center held their annual Old Fashioned Searcy County Christmas in the Racoon Springs Park in Marshall. At this event there was Gingerbread house contests, different types of food, games, vendors, political candidates, and of course Santa. This was one of his stops within Searcy County. He was also spotted at the old K & H building having milk and cookies later on that day.

St. Joe news

Been cutting up limbs and piling to burn. Love my chain saws. Making short work of it all. Kind of cool out today (Monday) but the activity keeps me warm. Jess, Skip, and kids came to help and in short order had it done. Ryan can cut up the big stuff for his stove and I’ll burn the rest. I had made a big pot of chili, so they took chili, hot dogs, buns and Frito’s home for supper.

Mountain Wave price increase

Starting January 1, 2022 the Marshall Mountain Wave will have a price increase. Due to the increase of postage and printing prices we are having to fluctuate the rates of our paper and subscriptions. Individual papers will increase to 75 cents a paper. All subscriptions will increase $5. In County will now cost $29, out of county will be $43, out of state will be $59, and online will be $22. In the near future we will also be increasing the prices for ads and obituaries. As soon as we know when the changes will start, we will post it in the Wave and post it on our Facebook page. We thank each and every one of our customers for the support of the local paper.
