Search Warrant arrest in SC

On November 9, Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell (right) oversees the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Main Street in Leslie. Search warrants lead to arrest of two Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported during the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 9, members of the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office, 20th Judicial Drug Task Force, 20th Judicial Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Marshall Police Department and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Enforcement Division simultaneously executed two search warrants in Searcy County.

Quilts of Valor in Searcy County

One of the most heartwarming events every year is the Quilts of Valor presentation by the Searcy County Quilt Guild that was held Saturday in Marshall. Seven local veterans received a quilt made by the local quilt guild! Big thanks are extended to the veterans and to the Searcy County Quilt Guild who sewed love into these special quilts! Leslie Cyber Center

Leslie and Searcy County made a big step forward into the 21st century job market with the winning of a grant to provide IT/Cyber training from the Forge Institute! A great kickoff event was held today for the Leslie Cyber Center at Ryan’s Main Street Grill! The event was funded by the Rural Community Alliance and orchestrated by the City of Leslie, the Greater Searcy County Chamber of Commerce, and Matheny & Henderson American Legion Post 131 and VFW Post 12127 both of Leslie. The meal was provided by every food establishment in Leslie, which is known for its wonderful food! Manhunt leads to one arrest

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, on November 9, the Searcy County Sheriff’s Department and the Marshall Police Department responded to the area of Turkey Penn Springs Road and Cozahome Road after dispatchers received a complaint call.

Snowball news

Progress is really happening at the Snowball Gymnasium. The crew repairing the hips is done! They replaced all the rotten wood in the gym roof and replaced 2x6’s that were showing wear. The roofing crew is set to show up on Monday. By the time you’ll be reading this, there’ll probably be a new roof already in place! If you’re out and about, swing by and check out the progress!

South Mountain/Nubbin Hill news

Hello out there. Hope you are staying warm on these chilly days and nights. Then again, it is supposed to warm up some the next couple of days, then turn cold again. Guess we better keep a sweater handy. This time of year, you don’t know if the day will warm up or not. Ray and I went to the Landis cemetery this past week to mow. It didn’t need it very bad, and it didn’t take us very long to finish. I guess we are done mowing for the winter on all the cemeteries. I’m glad we made it another year.

Snowball news

After the last couple weekends, it was pretty quiet in Snowball, no events to report on! Things are starting to happen up at the Snowball Gymnasium. There is a crew working to repair the corners of the building by replacing the lumber that has started failing in the last few years.
