Prostate cancer screening tends to show net benefit years later

DEAR DR. ROACH: Regarding your recent column about prostate cancer, could you please clarify a statement that has created some concern and confusion for me? The statement is: “Screening begins to have a net benefit after about 10 or 15 years.” About 10 or 15 years after what exactly? Around our town

Hello to of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the Jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. Wow the weather has been so beautifully mild this past week. The mornings have been cool and pleasant, and the high temperatures have only been in the 80s. I am just hoping that it rains soon, because we are dry and have not had much rain of late. We are probably going to get some rain from the latest hurricane in the gulf that just came to shore a couple of days ago. But in the meantime I am going to enjoy the lovely Fall like weather here at the very tail end of Summer.
